About the project: The Black Code is a psychological short film about Shan, a young Black man who made a choice he's spent three years trying to live with. The people he claimed to love are the same family he's pushed the farthest away. As memories of childhood, dark fatherhood, and lost trauma begin to surface, he must face the truth about who he became. Rate: Intended to be paid, depending on the success of an upcoming crowdfunding campaign. Additional info: Filming in the DMV area during winter 2026 / spring 2027. Meals and beverages will be provided. Some roles include swimming scenes — comfort in the water required for those roles.
