About the project: This production arrives at a particularly meaningful civic moment: during the 250th anniversary year of the United States and in the same week as the 2026 midterm elections. Funny, personal, urgent, and deeply human, What the Constitution Means to Me asks how the U.S. Constitution has shaped generations of women, families, and communities – and what it means to claim, question, and reimagine the document today. Rate: All roles receive an actor stipend. Stipends range from $250 to $425, depending on the role. Local housing for actors is not available at this time. Additional info: All actors are asked to prepare a 1–2 minute monologue of their choice. Memorization is welcome but not required. Performances will take place November 6–8, 2026 Please apply if interested.

The central role of the play. Smart, funny, open-hearted, exacting, and emotionally generous. Heidi moves between present-day storytelling and memories of herself as a teenage constitutional debater. This is a lead role with a large line load and significant direct address to the audience.
Kind but stoic. The Legionnaire represents both the historical forces behind systemic issues and a modern man willing to confront and dismantle them.
