Seeking actors for "Sold!" short film. More details provided below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: An overeducated, lackadaisical urban farmer must protect his life and home after an elderly neighbor demands to be his slave. A short satire on class and race distinctions in America, the project explores the social pantomimes, distortions, and transgressions necessary to support such systems, rooted in play between two central characters: the older, dispossessed yet enthusiastic slave, and his younger, reluctant but wryly sadistic would-be master. Rate: $175–200/day. Additional info: Production dates: Early September 2026. In-person rehearsals commence mid-August. Location: Richmond, Virginia. Independent / Non-union production. Submission consists of a self-tape based on script samples and extended character backgrounds provided in casting sheets. LEAD Any build. Must be physically limber/flexible; light stunt work required. Experience with accents/advanced vocal work required. Previous experience on stage or camera is preferred but not required. CHARACTER: A mischievous, now-elderly former child actor, known for his penchant for provocation and inextricably woven into the fabric of the neighborhood despite living beyond the boundaries of good taste.
