Lead PAID ROLE (RATE TBD) An aspiring half-Korean actress balancing a busy life of helping run her mother's restaurant, working side jobs, and pursuing a career in acting. She comes from a modest background and comes off as a little rough around the edges, with a loose, unhinged charisma; she knows what she wants, and she knows how to get it. Must speak Korean with a passable accent preferred. Must be comfortable singing.
Supporting A typical San Francisco performative male, matcha in hand and he's been to China more times than his Chinese girlfriend. Partner to the film's lead, he serves as a symbol of assimilation in the main character's life. He's endlessly supportive yet not truly understanding of his girlfriends passions and drives.
Supporting Young Son is Lucy's mother, a single mother trying to keep her small Korean restaurant above the line with the help of her She truly believes in her daughter as an artist and supports her pursuits, but wishes her daughter would strive to make money in a more traditional way.
Supporting Sam is a successful casting director, a classic white gay San Francisco thespian. He's kind, supportive, and bubbly.
Supporting lan is an acclaimed Broadway director bringing his new play to San Francisco. He is an emotional and egotistical thespian and completely ignorant about the play he's directing.
Day Player An up and coming playwright behind the new play "Letters to the East." He is ignorant and defiant to the lead actor's concem about racism in his play.
