LEAD ROLE. 242 LINES/38 SCENES. Margaret is a 1965 professor of literature at NYU — a closeted lesbian, she's in an unhappy marriage to Ross, a businessman, but she starts having an affair with a woman she meets at a coffeeshop in New York.
LEAD ROLE. 145 LINES/17 SCENES. Ross is a businessman and WWII veteran — he believes in traditional values, but his wife has a job, which he somewhat resents, because it takes away from her "wifely duties."
SUPPORTING ROLE. 53 LINES - 5 SCENES. Dr. Pembroke is the chair of the English department at NYU in 1965 — he acts as a mentor figure to Margaret, who he remembers when she was still a student, before she was a professor.
