Candace started the Mic’s On podcast while she was in college, nearly 10 years ago. A lifelong true-crime fanatic, she invited her best friend Amanda Murr to join her in hosting, and the podcast took off, amassing millions of subscribers. Although the podcast has long since seen its glory days, it is still the highlight of Candace’s life and she is convinced she can bring it back to what it used to be.
Raised with an affluent upbringing, Amanda is now a successful real estate agent and the wife of a wine distillery owner. She is more than ready to begin the next stage of her life, but doesn’t seem to know how to communicate that with her high school best-friend Candace. When Candace invited her to come on the show all those years ago, she only agreed because she thought it would be fun. Now, it feels more like a chore than anything else.
