CBC's Series "Murdoch Mysteries" Seeks Men

ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Casting men for CBC's Series "Murdoch Mysteries". Please, see the details below. Additional information: None who has been on "Murdoch" in July. Date: July 16th. Location: Hamilton (shuttle available). Exterior. 9 x actra and 10 x non union. Directors will need sizes of all and please remind everyone of the specific hmu requirements as outlined below. This is a boxing match in 1911. This show is very strict as it is period. No FALSE anything. Please read all the notes below prior to submitting. Men to bring black socks, & undershirts. If you are working Exterior, please wear underlayers for warmth ALL BG should bring comfort wear for inside holding NOTE: IF WORK IS EXTERIOR, PLEASE WEAR UNDERLAYERS FOR WARMTH IF NEEDED MAKEUP PLEASE SEE MAKEUP REQUIREMENTS FOR SEASON 20 OF MURDOCH MYSTERIES. FULL BEARDS, MOUSTACHES & LONG SIDE BURNS ARE GREAT but, you MAY be required to shave IF they look too modern for this time period. You do not have to shave before coming to set but Please bring electric shaver if you have one. Specific notes may be sent throughout the season for example if the men must be clean shaven or unshaven. You MAY need to have facial hair glued on ie Sideburns. NO piercings that cannot be removed. VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: Because there have been many instances where male BG performers have shown up completely clean shaven after shaving off a moustache or beard, having been told by their agent(s) that they needed to be completely clean shaven to come to this set, directors would like to make the notes above clearer by using bold text to the words ‘MAY’ & ‘IF’. Directors also have it stated that the men with facial hair need to be willing to alter it if it is too contemporary and so many of them refuse for thgem to change it or trim it or cut it which puts us in a position of having to hide them In the back or make them always be shot from the back. Arrive Neatly groomed, hair length should ideally be collar length or shorter if possible. Be prepared for a trim it is necessary and time allows. For BG, who are labelled as Elderly or Older, grey hair is preferred. Men of color: please no braids, twists, dreads, fades or cut-in lines on the guys, please.
