"A Little Night Music" Show Needs Performers

About the project: A Little Night Music explores a web of amorous entanglements centered around actress Desiree Armfeldt, her current married lover, Count Carl-Magnus Malcom, and her former lover, Fredrik Egerman. When the traveling actress performs in Fredrik’s town, the estranged lovers’ passion rekindles. This strikes a flurry of jealousy and suspicion among Desiree, the Count, Fredrik, Fredrick’s wife, Anne, and the Count’s wife, Charlotte. Both men, along with their jealous wives, agree to join Desiree and her family for a weekend at Desiree’s mother’s country estate. With everyone in one place, possibilities of new romance and second chances abound. Feb. 7 at 2pm PRELIMINARY AUDITIONS Auditions will consist of both a vocal audition and a movement call. The vocal audition will occur first, followed by a movement call led by the choreographer. Prepare 32-64 bars of a song from A Little Night Music or a song in a similar musical style (Sondheim preferred). Please provide your own sheet music that is clearly marked for the accompanist. Please also wear (or bring) appropriate attire for the dance portion of the audition. Character heels, jazz shoes and comfortable sneakers are permitted.
