About the Play: "Innocence Lost" tells the story of the 1959 murder of twelve-year-old Lynne Harper near Clinton, Ontario, and the subsequent conviction of fourteen-year-old Steven Truscott. Through the voices of those who lived through the events, the play explores how a small community was affected by the crime, the trial, decades of controversy, and the eventual determination that Truscott’s conviction represented a miscarriage of justice. Using documentary-style storytelling, actors portray real people whose lives were shaped by the case. The play examines memory, truth, justice, and the lasting impact of a tragedy on a rural Ontario community.
