Claire returned from the dead wearing her own smile like a mask and whatever is behind it has been waiting patiently to get back inside. This is the most demanding and exciting role in the film. If you can make an audience feel safe and terrified at the exact same time — this role was written for you.
Claire's closest friend. The caretaker of the group who holds everyone together at the cost of herself. Maya is strong, protective, and deeply perceptive — which means she feels something is wrong before anyone else does. But love has a way of making you ignore what you know. Maya's journey is the emotional spine of this entire film.
The one who grew up alongside Claire. Emotionally open, straightforward, and never one to stay quiet — until now. Jordan carries the specific guilt of being the last person to see Claire before the accident and hasn't found anywhere to put it. Warmth and emotional availability are everything for this role.
The quiet one. Derek and Claire had something unfinished between them — feelings that never got their final word. He processes everything internally and says almost nothing. But he feels it all first. This role requires a grounded, subtle performance that says everything without saying anything.
