Additional information: Shoot is happening in Cambridge on the 25th and 26th of July with an additional day on either the Friday or Monday. Lead. A single mother and recent immigrant, Momo is tough, impatient, and driven by necessity. She juggles exhausting gig jobs while trying to stay afloat for her five- year-old daughter. She’s not perfect - she cuts corners, makes rash decisions, and carries guilt she doesn’t always know how to name. Her dignity is guarded, even when she’s one step from collapse. Mandarin (native level) and English (with accent).
Supporting. Jie is a middleman figure in the immigrant gig economy - not a villain, but someone navigating the same system from a slightly higher rung. He runs Airbnb and hires Momo for the day. Jie represents the complicated dynamics within ethnic communities: shared background does not guarantee solidarity. He’s pragmatic, shrewd, and at times borderline exploitative, reflecting how power can be unevenly distributed even among the marginalized.
