Actors Needed for Paid Video Clips
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Casting actors with experience in the healthcare system, all ages and demographics, including couples and families for upcoming video clips. More details are below. Rate: Pay is $400 CAD, with the expectation of up to a half day on location. This rate is intended to compensate for both location time and prep time. Additional information: Looking for actors to play the role of patients and families in a hospital/nursing setting. The video clips will be used in an online training system for nurses counsellors. The session includes a prepared character backgrounds and scripted language/prompts with some improvising. All ages, all gender expressions/identities, all ethnicities, and persons with disabilities are welcome. All experience levels with acting are welcome to apply. Directors are committed to making this a respectful and safe process, with open communication and respect for boundaries. Comfortable English fluency is required. Strongly committed to authenticity in our educational portrayals, so it's preferred that actors match specific cultural backgrounds and gender identities/expressions, have some experience with hospitalization and medical treatment, and where indicated, some experience with or around certain medical conditions. Expected filming date is July 26, but the needs are ongoing and more will occur in the future, so please submit if you're interested at all. Heavyset, preferably with past experiences of medical hospitalization and/or ER visits.
(All other demographics are acceptable) with experience navigating the healthcare system.
Black/Afro-Canadian/African American (Sub-saharan African and/or Afro-Latino ethnicity). Good To Have: Personal History of/Familiarity with Sickle Cell Anemia (either as a patient themself or family member).
(Specific nation membership or community identity preferred), cisgender man, preferably heavyset. Personal history of diabetes preferred though not necessary.
Cisgender woman (the patient) and her husband. Ideally, a real husband/wife couple. Actor will be portraying a patient with a history of breast cancer who broke her hip and presented to the ER. Imaging reveals her cancer has return and her prognosis is terminal.
Cisgender woman (all other demographics acceptable). Preferably an actual nurse, nursing student, or someone with healthcare practitioner experience.
