About the project: Summary: KENNY moves from a tiny Mormon town in Utah to study journalism in Chicago, where he hopes to discover more about the world around him. His roommates are EMI, a stoned optimist from the suburbs, and DREW, an insecure performative man. Drew attempts to impress Kenny by throwing a party for the city’s Scientologists, unable to find real friends. Meanwhile, Emi uses Drew’s phone to spy on an ICE truck, which ultimately crashes the party. He’s awkward, gullible, and usually the last to get a joke. He loves animals more than he does people, and he believes in the simple idea of freedom, and that anyone should be allowed to do anything that doesn’t hurt anyone. She has a loud mouth and quick wit, but uses weed as a coping mechanism for her inability to relate to others, which is why she often comes across as rude and egotistical, trying to curb that insecurity. Her strong moral voice doesn’t always match her actions, which are mostly rooted in hedonistic intentions in an attempt to fill a void of purpose in her life. (Lead)
The real Drew is buried under layers of performatism, which only Emi can see through. He hates himself, but doesn’t understand how to change, and often takes it out on others instead of self-reflecting. Despite his childish behavior, he’s a great friend on a surface level and always willing to entertain an idea, regardless of how stupid it is. (Lead)
Always online, rarely ever visiting the outside world. He goes by the name “The Riddler” and uses a chaotic alter-ego in order to approach people, which often makes them more uncomfortable. (Series Regular)
Because of this, he constantly latches onto groups of varying degrees of extremism in order to fit in. In just one day he can jump from Nazi to Marxist to Scientologist, whatever helps him best fit into the group surrounding him at that moment. (Recurring Guest Star)
