About the project: Logline: When an Asian American woman returns home for her parents’ retirement, she is confronted with an unpleasant person from her past she can no longer avoid and must reckon with her upbringing in a small Midwestern town. Rate: Credit and a small stipend are provided. Minors must have parent or guardian consent. Additional info: Shooting in Twin Cities, MN 1-2 day commitment, dates between 7/18-7/25, pending role. Julie’s best friend growing up, she left for the big city right after high school graduation and her current familial obligations have brought her back to her hometown. Warm, curious, and ambitious, her and Julie never miss a beat whenever they reconnect.
A waitress at Julie’s family restaurant, she has lived in the same small town her whole life. She is friendly and knows all the local folks, but can be a little naive as her worldview is limited.
