Casting Call for Short Horror Film

A young woman who lives alone despite her need for codependency. She struggles deeply with the disappearance of her best friend Nova Chalmers, believing Nova was the only one truly capable of understanding and supporting her. This has left her obsessive and desperate for similar connections, but her life only gets increasingly frustrating when she cannot find that. She has intrinsically tied herself to Nova, leaving her spiraling down a path of self-destruction.

A supernatural, animalistic life form with mysterious motives. Zircus originally existed only as a make-believe creature both June and Nova created when they were kids, but now has materialized into an entity beyond horror. Zircus has a strange attraction to June; the torment it brings her, the more its hold on her tightens.

June’s hotheaded and unemployed friend whose only concern in any situation is how it will benefit him first and foremost. Larry is wrapped up in his own careless lifestyle, but his immaturity and unwillingness to see things from a different perspective only serve to further draw a wedge in his and June’s relationship.

Another of June’s friends who oftentimes finds himself acting as a mediator between Larry and June, though keeping a front of indifference as to not further escalate conflict. As a family man, he gives all of his time and attention to his wife and child, frequently leaving himself emotionally exhausted and unenthusiastic to be there for June.

June’s closest friend and supporter, whose disappearance haunts every aspect of June’s everyday life. Since vanishing, Nova’s likeness has been reduced to bait for June to unwittingly follow, luring her further into Zircus’s trap.
