About the musical: "When You Close Your Eyes" is a sapphic horror musical that explores the pursuit of purpose, and how far you’re willing to go to escape your pain. Set in a small, bleak town, the show follows a group of young women, stuck in the place they were raised. When a new girl, Vera, suddenly appears, things rapidly descend into a nightmare that just might be real. Rate: Each artist will receive an honorarium of $300 and one share of profit share. Additional information: Interested performers should submit no later than Monday July 13th at 11:59 PM EST. Following the success of its workshop run in 2024, When You Close Your Eyes will be premiering at Video Cabaret this November. Swings are an integral part of the acting company and will attend rehearsals, actively contribute to the creative process, and learn multiple tracks within the show. While the nature of swing work means that performance opportunities may vary throughout the run, these artists play a vital role in the sustainability and success of the production and must be prepared to step into performance at any time.
