About the project: After a night out on the town, a shy and socially awkward college student shares a brief encounter with a young woman that sparks a mutual attraction. Following the encounter, he continues to see her throughout his day-to-day life on campus. Each unexpected meeting brings them closer to connecting, but his nerves and awkward attempts at conversation continually get in the way, turning every interaction into a near miss. Rate: Non union. Originally from a suburban town on the outer edge of the GTA, Guy moved to Toronto to study computer science in college. Though slightly awkward from a young age, he became significantly more withdrawn in high school after asking out a girl he had a crush on and being rejected. What affected him more than the rejection itself was the relentless teasing from his friend group afterward.
Brazillian. Originally from São Paulo, Girl came to Canada on a rugby scholarship to study finance. Coming from a middle to upper-middle-class background, she attended private school in Brazil and grew up balancing academic ambition with an active social life. Before leaving Brazil, Girl dated several men, though each relationship eventually collapsed after the honeymoon period faded.
