Casting actors for "Boymom" short film exploring queer parenthood. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please see the roles below. About the project: "When a young mother, Rachel, takes her husband, Paul, and son, Noah, to spend time in the seaside town she frequented during her childhood, she is forced to confront her own memories there, summers in which she assumed the nickname ‘Ray’, and socialized among the locals as a little boy." SUPPORTING. Kind, supportive, and charming. Follows Rachel’s lead everywhere, and is filled with love for his family. A bit simple and aloof. Rachel’s husband and Noah’s father.
SUPPORTING. Empathetic, artsy, and eccentric. A wild spirit and very supportive of Ray. Owner of a vintage tailor shop that Ray confides in. Ray’s aunt and Carol’s sister.
SUPPORTING. Put together, proper, and confident - a caretaker. Full of love for Ray, but doesn’t full understand their choices and desires. Rachel/Ray’s mother and Ella’s sister.
SUPPORTING. A charming, quaint man in Ella’s tailor shop. Old-fashioned, yet warm. Forms a camaraderie with Ray.
