3 roles
Lead. (Masculine Presenting) A man with buried ambition. Entering his adulthood with hope and excitement, stagnancy in his career and social life crept up on him. He’s not hopeless, James always thinks tomorrow could be better, but he’s never willing to take the risk in order to make it so. He’s dry, with a wit and talent hidden under his foggy surface.
SUPPORTING. (Masculine Presenting). James’ friend of several months, Paul is happy to be here. A positive, extraverted shot of energy, Paul views his job as a means to enable a fulfilling social life. He loves building circles of friends, and wants no one left behind. He met James when they started working together, and shared interest (and Paul spotting a spark of ambition in him) led them to become friends.
(SUPPORTING). A metaphor that hits too close to home. It isn’t some ghost, but it’s within its nature to act as a sort of phantom. Pale, fleshy, you can see its veins, dotted in between rare strings of gray hair on its nearly bald head. This thing is certainly an animal despite its humanoid appearance, but it’s not naive. It’s old, older than James, older than anything James owns, older than the creepy dog bowl it drinks from. It isn’t malevolent or altruistic, but simply intent on survival.
