About the project: Rocky the Musical is adapted from Sylvester Stallone's Academy Award-nominated screenplay with a score by Tony Award winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. A small-time boxer scraping by on the tough streets of Philadelphia gets the chance of a lifetime when chosen as an unlikely opponent for Apollo Creed, the undefeated world heavyweight champion. As Rocky trains relentlessly for the fight of his life, he finds an unexpected connection with Adrian, a quiet and overlooked young woman searching for her own strength. Together, they discover in each other a courage neither knew they possessed. Non-paid, non-union production. Additional info: Video auditions accepted via Cast98 until Thursday, June 18 at 5:00 PM. Callbacks: Saturday, June 20, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Notifications sent by June 18 at 10:00 PM. Prepare a song approximately 32 bars (60–90 seconds) in the style of the show. An accompanist will be provided. Rehearsals begin late June, typically 2–4 times per week. Submit all known conflicts at auditions. Tech week: September 1–10. No conflicts accepted September 3, 4, 8, 9, and 10. Performances: September 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20. Evening performances at 7:30 PM, Sunday matinees at 2:00 PM.
