LEAD. Calvin is a man who has fallen in between the cracks. It shows physically and emotionally. At first glance, he reads as unstable or even threatening, but underneath the chaos is urgency. He knows something is wrong and he’s desperate to stop it, even if he can’t communicate it clearly.

SUPPORTING. Elegant and effortlessly warm. Margaret presents as the ideal neighbor: gracious, articulate and inviting. But beneath that is something tightly controlled and unreadable. She never raises her voice unless she needs to. Her calm is what makes her unsettling. There’s a precision to everything she does. Privately, Margaret is capable of extreme violence, which she carries out with the same composure and control.

SUPPORTING. Friendly, approachable and easygoing. Daniel is the kind of person you trust immediately. He’s not naive, but he doesn’t expect anything to be wrong. His warmth makes what happens to him more unsettling.

SUPPORTING. Elliot’s mother. Caring, slightly frazzled, and distracted. She loves her son, but she’s juggling a lot and doesn’t fully register what’s happening around her. She represents normalcy: the grounded, everyday world that fails to notice danger when it’s right in front of it.
