"Young Frankenstein" Musical in Need of Equity Performers

About the project: SYNOPSIS: Dr. Frederick Frankenstein — an awkward American neurosurgeon and reluctant heir to his infamous grandfather’s castle in Transylvania — and his creature come to vibrant life on stage like never before. This defiantly silly comedy begins with a musical number about the brain and devolves into a triumph of the id over the superego, deliriously liberating love, lust, and the “monster” contained within us all. From iconic musical numbers like “Roll in the Hay” and “Puttin’ On the Ritz” to Igor’s classic gags (“What hump?”), this irreverent homage to the golden age of horror movies serves up laugh after laugh while celebrating the joys of friendship, authenticity, and belonging. Rate: LORT Non-Rep $889 weekly minimum (LORT D) Additional info: Audition day break: 1:00PM - 2:00PM. No roles will be understudied. PREPARATION: Prepared 1-2 minute comedic or dramatic monologue from a contemporary play OR (for those who’d like to be seen for Young Frankenstein), a brief cut of an up-tempo pop song no more than one minute. Sheet music in the correct key (accompanist will not transpose). Headshot/resume stapled together. An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.
