Casting Actor for Table Read "The Golden Glaze"

About the project: A new Cambodian-Canadian family drama set in a family-owned donut shop. The play explores themes of legacy, intergenerational trauma, identity, and belonging within the Khmer diaspora. Rate: $75 honorarium. Additional information: One Zoom rehearsal (date to be scheduled based on availability). Table Read: Thursday, August 7, 2026 in downtown Toronto. Time: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM EST. Cambodian or Southeast Asian. Must be fluent or conversational in Khmer, as the role includes some Khmer dialogue. A fierce mother. Immigrated to Canada at as a young survivor of the Khmer Rouge. Friendly and cheerful to deadly stern in a heartbeat. A busy body, doesn’t like to sit still and will do chores while yelling at you. Unable to tell hard truths and will often sugar coat answers to make everything okay.
