Open Roles in a Comedy Series "Left Out"
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. "Left Out" a short-form comedy series is looking for cast. More details are below. About the project: "Left Out" is a short-form mockumentary series about lefties. It follows the members of a non-profit organization whose mission is to end the struggles of left-handed people in the world. They take themselves super seriously while nobody else in the world does, but their dedication to the cause will push them forward. Additional information: Accepting video submissions only. Shooting Date: End of June TBD. Shooting Location: Downtown Toronto. Video Submission Deadline: June 17. MAIN CHARACTER. Female-identifying, left handed! Or ambidextrous CEO, CFO, Head of Public Relations. She's a leader and a visionary and cares too much about the cause. She loves everyone, and her team especially. She believes in humanity and hasn't given up on the world yet. She was not born a lefty, but as a baby, she pushed a bowling ball with her right hand, causing her father to die in his sleep. So she became incredibly superstitious and trained herself to never use her right hand.
MAIN CHARACTER. Male-identifying, Middle-Eastern, left-handed! Or ambidextrous Head of Research, Head of Design, and Head of Social Media. He's creative and a problem solver in things he is good at. He's cynical, sarcastic, and too self-conscious. He's dealing with a bad break-up that, just like everything, he blames on being a lefty.
MAIN CHARACTER. Male-identifying, right-handed. Fresh Volunteer, Building Manager, Office Manager. Richard manages the building where Left Out's office is. It is very important to know that Richard is not a lefty, but he volunteered to impress a girl, lying about being a lefty. He's an impulsive liar, but mainly because of his daddy issues. He's not the smartest guy and a bit lazy and privileged, but he's a hopeless romantic and means well.
SIDE CHARACTER. Pride Organizer. Nice and kind-hearted. They're gonna make the Left Out team look like stupid jerks in comparison. They want everyone to enjoy Pride, and they might even care enough about lefty issues. However, they have to put their foot down after Petra disrupts Pride and tries to steal a DJ's spot and get on stage to promote Left Out.
SIDE CHARACTER. Two peas in a pod. They are bigots who hate left-handed people. They're ignorant, condescending, and loud. They bully one a lefty for not knowing how to open a door with his left hand. They destroy the Left Out table, but get severely punished for it at the end.
SIDE CHARACTER. Fabulous and all dressed for Pride. Young, confident, and optimistic about the world. They're lefty and approach the team curious about lefty issues, but they come at a bad time and get weirded out by them.
SIDE CHARACTER. A right-handed guy who wanted to be supportive of the cause. They're polite, camera-shy, and awkward. They offer their signature but get rejected for being a righty.
