All auditionees must arrive by 3:00 PM. Please be prepared to do cold reads. Must be performed in an "aristocratic" Lower Southern accent, as the play is set in 1950s Mississippi. Monologues are encouraged but not required; if preparing one, please choose one from the show. It does not need to be memorized. Please be aware that the production contains strong language and some mature content. The actor cast as Brick must be comfortable performing bare-chested for a portion of Act I. An intimacy director will be provided for scenes between actors cast as Maggie and Brick, as well as Reverend Tooker and Big Mama. If interested, please schedule an audition time.

A beautiful, passionate woman who has risen from poverty to the wife of the son of a rich businessman. Her husband Brick has physically and emotionally withdrawn from her, and she is desperate to renew their relationship.
The favored son of a plantation owner, he is slipping into alcoholic oblivion. Despite his “weakness”, he is a truth teller fighting the many lies his family is built on.
The patriarch of the family. A vulgar, selfish, brash millionaire who openly favors Brick. Despite physical issues, he’s been given a clean bill of health by his doctor and feels empowered to grab the passion and joy that’s been absent from his life. Married to a woman he despises to elevate him in society.
Married to Big Daddy. She is silly, crude, and lives a life of pretense that her husband loves her despite his ill treatment of her. She, too, favors Brick over his brother. She has let herself go physically and has surrendered her dignity to maintain peace in the lie that is her marriage.
Brick’s older, lawyer brother who resents Brick’s status as the favored son. He takes satisfaction in Big Daddy’s declining health and schemes to take over Big Daddy’s estate.
Gooper’s wife and the mother of his children. She goes to great, embarrassing lengths to appear the loving daughter-in-law while conspiring with Gooper to ensure they inherit the estate.
A tactless, opportunistic, hypocritical guest at Big Daddy’s birthday party. A small town preacher who enjoys the high life as long as someone else pays for it.
Big Daddy’s doctor. Tired from too long in his profession and averse to giving bad news.
A male servant/butler.
