Rate: Independent Theatre Contract $936 weekly minimum Additional info: PREPARATION: Please prepare 1 monologue (of your choice) not to exceed 2-minutes total. Bring ONE copy of your stapled headshot/resume. Callbacks will be held July 13 by appointment only. 1st Rehearsal: 02/23/2027 Previews: 03/17/2027 - 03/18/2027 Runs: 03/19/2027 - 04/18/2027 Possible Extension: 04/19 - 04/25/2027 An Equity Monitor will not be provided. (He/him. Southern) Famed civil rights leader Dr. King is a weary, exhausted, and burdened 39-year old preacher and Nobel Peace Prize winner. He is portrayed not as a perfect icon but as an ordinary man grappling with self-doubt, fear, and the immense pressure of his public role.

UNDERSTUDY FOR CAMAEBoth genders20-39 y.o.African-American

(Short for Carrie Mae), (She/Her. Southern) A charismatic, rebellious, and foul-mouthed maid. She is later revealed to be an angel sent by God to guide King into the afterlife. She is a reflection of King’s desires and a catalyst for him to face his legacy and mortality.
