Equity actors for roles in Theatre's 2026 season show "Topdog Underdog". ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See breakdown below. About the project: SYNOPSIS: In Suzan-Lori Parks’ Pulitzer and Tony Award winning play, brothers Lincoln and Booth are haunted by their past and obsessed with the street con game three-card monte. A darkly comic fable named the best play of the last 30 years by The New York Times, Topdog/Underdog digs deep into brotherly love, a sibling rivalry foretold by the names their father gave the brothers as a joke, and the long game of American History, as it asks: can we ever change the cards we’re dealt? Rate: LORT Non-Rep $1213 weekly minimum (LORT B) $889 weekly minimum (LORT D) Additional info: Some roles will be understudied. PREPARATION: Please prepare 2 contrasting one-minute monologues or 1 minute monologue and 1 minute song. Please bring your headshot and resume stapled together. If you are unable to attend the in-person auditions, video submissions will be accepted. An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition. Topdog. He lives with his brother, Booth, after his wife left him. An intelligent man who drinks, he works at an arcade as an Abraham Lincoln impersonator. Before working at the arcade, Lincoln used to be a hustler who played Three-Card Monte on the streets and conned people out of their money. Now, he’s trying to stay away from hustling, hoping to live an honest life in his brother’s apartment until he can get back on his feet.

Underdog. A hothead and unemployed, he has allowed his older brother, Lincoln, to stay in his apartment. Booth is obsessed with making money and attracting women. Aspirational hustler.
