Claire is recovering from the collapse of a ten-year relationship, though “recovering” might be too tidy a word for where she actually is. She moves through the film in a state of emotional disorientation. Withdrawn, but craving connection. She’s highly observant, deeply sensitive, and often more aware of the emotional subtext in a room than anyone around her, though she struggles to translate that awareness into certainty.
