About the project: On December 4, 1956, four young musicians got together at Sun Records in Memphis for what would become one of the greatest jam sessions of all time. Put on your blue suede shoes and join Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Carl Perkins for the recording session of a lifetime. Loaded with classic rock ‘n roll hits such as “Great Balls of Fire,” “Sixteen Tons,” “I Walk the Line,” “Hound Dog,” and many more. Johnny Cash at the dawn of his epic career. Must be familiar with his music and able to play guitar.
“Father of Rock ‘n’ Roll” and founder of Sun Records who discovered Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and many others including Roy Orbison and B.B. King; a towering and charismatic figure in American music.
Excellent singer; she was an aspiring singer and Elvis’s girlfriend; ahead of her time and assertive, she’s a great singer with a wide range; sings solos and back-up throughout the show.
Jay is Carl Perkins’ brother and bassist, who has accompanied him to Sun Records to record Carl’s new album. He remains almost entirely silent in conversation but performs as part of the ensemble numbers, and plays bass on all the musicians’ songs.
Fluke is Carl Perkins’ drummer, who has accompanied him to Sun Records to record Carl’s new album. He remains silent in conversation but performs as part of the ensemble numbers and plays drums on all the musicians’ songs.
