7 roles

RoniMale20-24 y.o.All ethnicities

The former church girl who’s desperate to prove that she’s changed. Feeling touched and inspired by the story of a dramatic video game, she’s set on spreading the good word of a different kind. To her, nothing is more important than “fixing” people’s perceptions of her. Roni’s pleasant and kind, but she’s still a little awkward and clings to more of her old prejudices than she likes to think. Despite lacking confidence elsewhere, she tends to have too much faith in her reading of other people.

KiaraFemale20-24 y.o.All ethnicities

The party girl who’s been around the block and then some. Kiara’s much more emotionally intelligent than her well-earned reputation of drug use and promiscuity would suggest. She wields intimacy as a form of healing, for both herself and her partner. She’s outgoing, proactive, and honest, though maybe not outwardly kind per se. Although she is plagued by her living situation, wherein she has to take care of her mother, she insists she is not merely a victim of circumstance.

JohnMale20-24 y.o.All ethnicities

The lifeguard and the only one of the main group who has worked at the camp before. He’s obsessed with the magic and rituals of the camp experience, having odd and inconsistent standards when it comes to safety, drinking, and general debauchery. He’s a prude, but he still likes to party. He’s also the only one who’s aware of the aquatic incident that took the life of Dan’s son, and leverages it to shape the camp and its priorities.

CodyMale20-24 y.o.All ethnicities

The druggie burnout who’s convinced he’s a curse to everyone he cares for. Having severed all ties, he takes up John’s offer to come work at the camp, hoping that he can escape his horrible streak of heartbreak and failure. His aloofness makes him appear quite consolidated with his social standing, but in reality he’s still attached to Kiara, with whom he had a casual relationship in the past and developed stronger feelings than he intended to.

TripMale20-24 y.o.All ethnicities

The track star who’s just about ready to walk away from running. His issue is simple - running isn’t fun anymore, but the expectations of his father and the requirements of his scholarship have locked him into a trap where his dreams are not his own. He sought out the camp for an escape where he could enjoy his passion on his own terms. The experience is derailed when a past sexual encounter with Roni has devastating aftershocks.

LydiaFemale20-24 y.o.All ethnicities

The only other veteran of the camp besides John, and not nearly as invested. Lydia’s not here to work and she doesn’t hide it - she’s sarcastic and irreverent, and she disappears to do her own thing often. While she’s not exactly presentable as an employee, much to John’s chagrin, she’s a remarkable advisor and a good mediator for Roni and Kiara, who prove difficult without her guidance.

DanMale40-49 y.o.All ethnicities

The camp’s eccentric director, as mysterious as he is corny. A goofball with an odd sense of humor and a supposed fear of the apocalypse, Dan puts up many fronts to ensure others’ perception of him begins and ends with “kooky oaf”. Still coping with the death of his son, he spends what little energy he has left keeping the camp afloat. He’s ambivalent towards John, but appreciates having a lifeguard around to prevent a repeat of his son’s accident. He and Lydia don’t talk much.
