Strong-willed and self-assured, Alex believes in doing what’s right. Though he means well, he tends to see the world in black and white terms, and isn’t terribly sympathetic to opposing viewpoints. An investigative journalist, he’s comfortable playing with fire to get the scoop he needs to tell stories the way he wants to tell them. Occasionally reckless, he has the air of somebody who has yet to be humbled, though he remains charming notwithstanding it.
Responsible and pragmatic, Cole is Alex’s oldest friend. Though similarly assured of his beliefs, he is more realistic than Alex, and understands that doing the right thing isn’t always easy. Working as a police officer, he struggles somewhat with mediating the purpose of his work with the day-to-day realities involved in carrying it out. Despite these misgivings, he doesn’t let it show; he is dependable and easy to talk to, somebody you’d like to have a beer with.
A would-be victim of the facility, ‘Cappy’ is a moniker given to an otherwise nameless man who has made it his mission to fight back against the people who abducted him. Masked and silent for the duration of the film, this role demands an imposing screen presence; we’re looking for built individuals of tall stature. Comfort with some light stunt work/stage combat would be an asset.
