About the project: This independent film is a love letter—a love letter to the woman who has kept our family whole, mi abuela Juliana. Inspired by true events, this feature film follows Juliana, a mother of 6, as she navigates her new life in the bustling city of New York, surviving in a lively new neighborhood that’s in a country nearly 2,000 miles away from her home. She fights endlessly to reunite with her children who’ve been left behind in the Dominican Republic, but all good things must come to an end. Personal sacrifice, family complications, and an untimely tragedy shape the very real lives that 'Juliana' the film is based on. Additional info: This film is in the process of seeking funding. Talent and crew hired will be encouraged to create a crowdfunding video to boost donations. Once fully funded, filming with begin in the Fall of this year.
