Casting Call for "New Air" Short. Storyline: An Immigrant South Asian family co-exists in a townhouse with a single mother and her daughter. Born out of their social and cultural clashes, tensions rise. Traditional, caring, and resilient, she also babysits her housemate’s child. Must be fluent in an Indian language; Tamil and Kannada speakers strongly encouraged to apply. Lead role.
A South Asian, Southeast Asian, or mixed ethnicity man, 29-40. An overnight construction site supervisor who immigrated to Canada with his family to build a better future for his daughter, Asha. Hardworking and devoted, though often exhausted and short-tempered from the pressures of work and family life.
