Acting Audition for a Short Film "Things in Common"
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Seeking cast for a short film "Things in Common". Please, see the details below. About the project: A young man, jobless and adrift, reckons with a painful loss. Rate: Unpaid. Lunch on shoot days and an honorarium. An opportunity to build your reel/portfolio on a good short film working on a thoughtful project. The Writer/Director has several literary recognition, including a long-list for the CBC Short Story Prize. The cinematographer has shot high-quality projects in England, Norway and India. Additional information: Length: ~10 minutes. Genre/Mood: Drama. Location: Toronto (Downtown, Scarborough, Midtown). Shoot dates: TBD once directors find the right talent, but aiming for end of May or early June. Shoot duration: Approx. 4 days in total, but each actor will only be required for 1 or 2 days to shoot their scenes. Tone/Style: The short will be firmly meditative in nature, relying on stunning and poignant visual storytelling as much as on dialogue. Locations & cinematography will especially seek to enhance the protagonist’s fragile emotional state against the bustle of Toronto. For more details, please see the attachment.
