About the project: After being released from prison, a middle-aged man, Lou, tries to rebuild his life by taking a job at a small Chinese restaurant and attempting to repair his broken relationship with his son, Nick. Burdened by his past, he struggles to find dignity in low-paying labor while proving that he has changed. The restaurant's harsh, high-pressure environment constantly tests Lou, but he slowly adapts and begins to find a fragile sense of belonging. At home, however, the damage runs deeper. After their mother's death, Nick was forced to carry the weight of survival alone, abandoning his own future. He resents Lou's return, and their relationship remains tense and unresolved despite brief moments of connection. Just as things begin to soften between them, an armed robbery at the restaurant shatters the fragile balance. The investigation reveals that Nick is the perpetrator, and the crime appears to be an inside job. Faced with this, Lou attempts to take the blame, hoping to sacrifice himself for his son's future. Instead, Nick chooses to face the consequences of his own actions. In the aftermath, life settles into a quiet routine. Lou continues working at the restaurant, carrying the weight of his past and the loss of his family.
