"Hope Among The Cosmos" Short Student Film
Local / Surrounding Area will be considered. Casting call for "Hope Among The Cosmos" short student film, looking for actors. About the project: Hope Among The Cosmos is a post-apocalyptic sci-fi story about a father and daughter on a routine trading run that goes very wrong. It's got action, heart, and some genuinely dark moments. Think practical effects, real locations, and a story worth telling. This is a student/indie production, unpaid, but you'll get credit, meals on shoot days, and footage of your work when it's ready. Heads up: This film has staged violence, fake blood, and some genuinely dark dramatic moments. Nothing unsafe happens on set, ever, but you should know what you're signing up for. Location: Rockford, IL Area Shooting September 2026, last two weekends (19th, 20th, 26th, 27th) with a pickup day in the beginning of October.

The dad. Big presence, quiet intensity, carries a lot of weight, he doesn't talk about. This is a physical role but the emotional stuff is what really matters. If you can be still and terrifying at the same time, I want to meet you. Preferred: African-American, mixed race.
Xander's wife. She's got a prosthetic leg, wears a tool belt, and looks like someone who's kept a family alive through sheer will. Small role but she needs to feel real the second she's on screen. Open to everyone.
A farmer and trader who refuses to break even when things get very bad. He's got maybe five minutes of screen time and needs to make you feel everything. Open to all.
(Jackson's Wife) Non-speaking. She died trying to protect her kid. The image says everything. You need to be comfortable with fake blood and staged death. Open to all.
The villain. Cybernetic arm, artificial eye, zero mercy. This role needs a separate prosthetic fitting before we shoot, plan for an extra session. If you want to play a genuinely scary person, this is your role. Open to all.
Bionic's partner and honestly the more terrifying of the two. Full metallic skull prosthetic, razor teeth, moves like something that used to be human. Full face appliance means a fitting session and extra time in the chair on shoot days. If you can commit to that and move like an animal, I want to talk. Open to all.
