About the project: Eliza Doolittle is a young flower seller with an unmistakable Cockney accent which keeps her in the lower rungs of Edwardian society. When Professor Henry Higgins tries to teach her how to speak like a proper lady, an unlikely friendship begins to flourish. My Fair Lady features one of musical theatre’s greatest scores, including: “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly?,” “With a Little Bit of Luck,” “The Rain in Spain,” “I Could Have Danced All Night,” “On the Street Where You Live,” “Get Me to the Church on Time,” and “I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face.” Additional info: HOW TO PREPARE: Please prepare a musical piece of your choice (preferably in the style of the show) that will showcase your vocal and acting range. Please bring appropriate footwear, ie. indoor sneakers, character heels, or jazz shoes. No outdoor shoes are permitted in the audition space. Please change out of your outdoor shoes and into your indoor footwear when you arrive. Strong ensemble singing and harmony skills are an asset. Dance experience is welcomed but not required for all roles. First Read Through and Meet and Greet: early July, exact date TBD. Weekly Sunday Rehearsals: Early July - October 11. Tech Week and Dress Rehearsals: October 12 - 15. Preview Performance: Thursday, October 15 at 7:00pm. Opening Night: Friday, October 16. Shows: Friday, October 16 (7:00pm), Saturday, October 17 (2:00pm, 7:00pm), Sunday, October 18 (2:00pm), Friday, October 23 (7:00pm), Saturday, October 24 (2:00pm, 7:00pm). Full attendance during the rehearsal process, tech week and performances is a requirement.
