7 roles
The overachiever and self-appointed leader of the choir. Ocean is hyper-competitive, controlling, and obsessed with success and recognition. She believes she deserves to return to life more than anyone else—and isn’t shy about saying it. Beneath her intensity, though, is a deep fear of being ordinary or forgotten.
A dramatic, melancholic gay teen who feels trapped in his small-town life. Noel romanticizes tragedy and dreams of being a glamorous, doomed French courtesan. He’s witty, self-aware, and deeply dissatisfied with reality, using fantasy as both escape and identity.
A quiet boy in life due to a degenerative illness that left him unable to speak. In death, however, he becomes expressive and imaginative, revealing a rich inner world full of sci-fi fantasies. His transformation highlights how much of him went unseen.
A tough, foul-mouthed Ukrainian adoptee with a rough exterior. Mischa hides vulnerability beneath bravado and crude humor. His love for a girl back home shows a softer, deeply loyal side, and his anger often stems from displacement and longing.
Sweet, kind, and often overlooked. Constance struggles with self-esteem and sees herself as “average,” especially compared to Ocean. Over time, she reveals quiet insight and emotional depth, challenging the idea that ordinary lives lack meaning.
A mysterious girl with no memory or identity—literally unnamed after the accident. She’s eerie, childlike, and haunting. Jane represents the unknown and the fear of being forgotten, but also the possibility of becoming someone new.
A mechanical fortune-teller who acts as the narrator and judge. Karnak controls the game that determines which teen gets a second chance at life. He’s cryptic, sometimes unsettling, and operates with a detached sense of cosmic logic.
