About the project: Forever Plaid is a delightfully nostalgic, harmony-packed musical comedy about four squeaky-clean crooners who get a second chance at stardom… from beyond the grave. On their way to their first big gig, the “Plaids” are tragically cut short—only to return for one unforgettable night of pitch-perfect performances and charmingly awkward banter. Rate: $500.00 per week. Fully furnished housing, single accommodation rooms, Wi-Fi, utilities, travel stipend, shared company cars, meals on show days, and the Florida sunshine. Additional info: Non union. This is an ensemble-driven piece, so chemistry and collaboration are essential. Performers should have solid comedic timing and be comfortable with light humor, as well as basic 1950s-style movement and choreography. Characters need to be energetic performers comfortable with audience interaction. High Tenor | Vocal Range: High tenor F3-C6. The shy, anxious member of the group who’s terrified of public speaking. Jinx often gets tongue-tied when nervous, leading to charming and comedic stutters. Sweet, eager to please, and deeply committed to the group. Strong vocal control and comedic timing required.
Tenor | Vocal Range: High tenor F3-B5. The group’s leader and self-appointed spokesperson. Frankie takes the music very seriously and strives to keep the group on track. Confident (sometimes overly), with a big personality and a flair for showmanship. Needs strong leadership presence and polished vocal ability.
Baritone | Vocal Range: Flexible F3-G5. The class clown and choreographer of the group. Sparky is playful, energetic, and loves mugging for the audience. Brings physical comedy and spontaneity, often breaking tension with humor. Strong movement skills and comedic instincts are essential.
Bass | Vocal Range: Low F3-G5. The worrier of the group—Smudge is constantly concerned about everything going wrong. Earnest and lovable, he adds heart and humor through his cautious nature. Requires strong lower register and the ability to balance sincerity with comedic delivery.
