Runway Theatre is excited to hold auditions for A Comedy of Tenors by Ken Ludwig. Runway's production will be directed by Byron Holder, and the production will run July 24 – August 9, 2026 (Friday-Sunday) Audition Dates: Sunday, May 31 & Monday, June 1, 2026. The world's most famous opera singer (Tito) and his lookalike bellhop (Beppo). Requires a strong Italian accent, high-energy diva behavior, and vocal ability for operatic singing. Double role. Must be capable of singing operatic pieces, specifically the "Drinking Song" from La Traviata.
The American opera manager. Loud, frantic, high-strung, and over-the-top, often speaking with a poor French accent.
Saunders’ assistant who is now an opera singer. Married to Maggie, anxious but smart, and a strong tenor singer. Must be capable of singing operatic pieces, specifically the "Drinking Song" from La Traviata.
The new rising opera star in love with Mimi. Handsome, strong tenor voice, required to appear in underwear in some scenes. Must be capable of singing operatic pieces, specifically the "Drinking Song" from La Traviata.
Tito’s hot-blooded, explosive Italian wife. Stylish, loud, and fiery.
Tito and Maria's daughter. An aspiring actress, romantic with Carlo. Requires appearing in underwear.
A glamorous, passionate Russian soprano. A former lover of Tito.
A small role, often played by the actor doing Beppo, requiring a French accent.
