Jimmy’s best friend, a bit older, maybe by a year or 2. Plays the Upright Bass in the first Road house band. Likes to dress sharp (within his means as a poor kid from that region.) self respectful and a brother figure, he looks out for his pal Jimmy.
Non speaking role The drummer in both roadhouse bands. Same age as his bandmates. Built like a linebacker.
Jimmy’s Mentor - Middle aged/old man – but youthful and energetic. A hippie look for that era, beard, long hair in a braid. Wears wire rimmed glasses and a beat up old fedora or bowler hat.
Jimmy’s mother. thin and spry wears an apron and hair covering with an old scarf or something
Jimmy’s sister. Looks and acts around 15. Wears a light cotton dress, hair in pigtails.
The leader of the white men gang. Scruffy, longish hair, wears dirty work clothes. A really mean drunk.
Lou’s right hand man, also Mid 40’s, scruffy, longish hair, wears dirty work clothes. Just goes along with whatever Lou does.
Non speaking role Lou’s younger brother, 30’s also scruffy, longish hair, wears dirty work clothes. His mentally disabled, and slow
Non speaking role Owns Rudy’s, only juke joint for miles, served in WWI. Apron around his waist, cigar hangs from the corner of his mouth.
A few white, even though this is segregated south. Various ages. all dressed in period attire for the summer season. A few are looking dapper on the dance floor.
