About the project: SYNOPSIS: The beloved American film is reimagined as a 1940s radio-play where you are the live studio audience. Under the direction by Sarasota’s own Scott Keys (A Year with Frog and Toad) five actors perform dozens of characters bringing to life the story of George Bailey, a man who has given up his dream to help others in the community. With nowhere else to turn on Christmas Eve, he begins to believe the world would be a better place if he had never existed. Enter guardian angel Clarence, who makes George see all the lives he has touched, and offers a glimpse of what the world would be like without him. A heartwarming and nostalgic play with music that is sure to put you in the holiday spirit. Rate: LORT Non-Rep $1213 weekly minimum (LORT B) $889 weekly minimum (LORT D) Additional info: Audition break: 1:30PM - 2:30PM. Most roles except bit parts are understudied. PREPARATION: For Plays: Prepare two monologues, no more than two minutes total. For Musicals: Prepare either a brief song or 16 bars of a song and a one-minute contemporary monologue. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring a hard copy of your headshot and résumé stapled together. EPA Procedures are in effect for this audition. An Equity Monitor will be provided.
