Theater Casting Call for "MayLouise" Play

About the play: "MayLouise" is a new queer dramedy which will be premiering at the 2026 Toronto Fringe Festival (June 30-July 12). SYNOPSIS: When May receives a letter in the mail about an inheritance, things for her and her wife, Louise, start to seem less jagged. But when May's estranged alcoholic mother shows up at their door, what should have been a blessing becomes a hot, sweaty, drunken nightmare, and their cramped studio apartment quickly turns into a pressure cooker. Rate: Performers and creative team will be paid via profit share. Additional information: Performers will be provided sides in advance for their audition. Sides will also be available at the audition, memorization is great but not required. The team will chat with you to get to know more about you and your interest in the play. You are also welcome to perform additional material such as a monologue if you choose. For the roles of May and Louise, directors will have performers read for both roles. During the audition you may be given redirects to explore the range of the material. Directors will accept self-tape submissions if you are unavailable for an audition timeslot, please indicate if so in your email submission. Submission deadline: Tuesday April 7th.
