"Rope" Stage Play in Search of Equity Actors

About the project: SYNOPSIS: A murder has been committed, and the two killers host a dinner party in the very room where the victim’s body is hidden. Drunk on arrogance, they claim it is the “perfect murder” and believe getting caught is impossible. But tension builds as cracks begin to appear and audiences are whisked from one moment of suspense to the next. Are the murderers’ slips unconscious or something more sinister? This thrilling show will captivate anyone who has ever been tempted to get away with something. Rate: LORT Non-Rep $889 weekly minimum (LORT D) Additional info: Audition lunch 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM. PREPARATION: Please prepare one monologue or two brief contrasting monologues to total approximately 2-minutes. There are no musicals in the season, no singing please. Each actor must bring one 8"x 10" head shot with a resume attached to the back of the photo. First Rehearsal: 4 / 21 / 2026 Opening: 5 / 22 / 2026 Closing: 6 / 14 / 2026 An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition. (Female presenting): One of the Bright Young Things, pretending to be shallower than she is.
(Male presenting): Rich, conservative, cultured, kind.
(Male presenting): A Byronic ruin. Brilliant, dry, wry, caustic and very entertaining. He lost most of one leg in The Great War. Now he walks with a limp. He uses a cane.
(Male presenting): Fine-featured, smart, cultured, expensively dressed. Cool, self-satisfied, amused, confident.
(Male presenting): Brandon’s junior partner. Also expensively dressed. Good looking, polite. He is the less confident specimen.
