The elderly spiritual leader and Spiritual center of Anatevka. A respected authority figure who provides guidance on religious law and day-to-day matters, often using intelligent but minimal and roundabout verbal responses. Baritone.
A non-speaking, non-singing role that requires an actor with exceptional physical skills. The actor must be able to hold the audience’s attention through stylized movement, dance, and facial expressions. The character is required to play the violin (fiddle).
