Theater Casting Call for "Sincerely, E" Play
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ADMITTED. Currently casting performers for a 60-minute play debuting at the Toronto Fringe Festival this summer, "Sincerely, E". More details are below. About the play: "Sincerely, E" is the story of a young Caribbean woman learning what it means to belong and to begin again. Set between London, UK, and Toronto, Canada in the 1960s, the play follows her journey of migration, resilience, love, and the search for home. Rate: Actors will receive a flat-fee honorarium for the run. Additional information: Run Dates: June 30 – July 12, 2026 (8-show run). Rehearsals: Late April. Location: Toronto East End (exact location will be shared with selected actors). When applying, please submit your preferred audition time, along with your head shot and resume. Audition Requirements: One contemporary monologue (1–2 minutes); A brief reading in a Caribbean accent (sides will be provided).

Black, Afro-Caribbean, or of Caribbean descent. A first-generation Jamaican-British man from Liverpool. Thomas begins as a barkeep at the Driftwood Club and eventually works his way up to become a co-owner. Ambitious and charismatic, he is drawn to London’s vibrant energy and is eager to build a future for himself. He becomes Eselynn’s romantic interest. Slight British accent required; Caribbean accent an asset.
Black, Afro-Caribbean, or of Caribbean descent. Eselynn’s childhood friend, who relocated to London several years prior. Warm and supportive, but she’s also bold and has a comedic presence. Rose serves as Eselynn’s confidante and emotional anchor, a vital connection to home. She is married to Arthur, owner of the Driftwood Club. Caribbean accent required.

Black, Afro-Caribbean, or of Caribbean descent. MAMA: Eselynn’s mother, who remains in Georgetown. She provides emotional support and guidance through letters, embodying warmth, wisdom, and strength. ANITA: Eselynn’s sister, whom she is reunited with in Toronto. Anita arrives in Canada as a domestic worker through the Canadian Domestic Scheme. She is resilient, hopeful, and shaped by her own migration experience. Caribbean accent required.
