Auditions for "The Tragedy of King Richard the Third" Show

The company is holding auditions for "The Tragedy of King Richard the Third" show and looking for performers, please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Rate: NON-TRADITIONAL, COLOR-BLIND, GENDER-BLIND CASTING. $350 honorarium + tips & lunch at traveling shows. This is an ensemble production and will also require set-up and break-down at each venue. Additional info: Wednesday, April 22 4 – 7 PM Saturday, April 25 2 – 5 PM Sunday, April 26 2 – 5 PM Please prepare a two minute Shakespeare monologue Actors are only provided a cue script, not the entire play, and come in fully memorized and off book. Rehearsals are limited to approximately 24 - 28 hours (~10-14 days) prior to opening the final weekend in July and runs for 4 weekends. Vallejo Shakespeare is seeking non-union actors to join our 2026 production. Double/Triple Casting. Rehearsal schedule: Dramaturgy Zoom TBD late June. Live Read-thru in Benicia July 5 5-9 pm Rehearsals in Hanns Park, Vallejo July 13-17 6-9pm, July 18-19 11am-4pm and July 20-24 6-9pm With potential extra rehearsal for fight and intimacy scenes. Due to the intense schedule and style of rehearsing there can be zero conflicts (emergencies excepted). Performances: July 25 & 26 Vallejo, August 1 Benicia, August 2 Martinez, August 8 American Canyon, August 9 Piedmont, All shows in the park at 4pm. August 14 & 16 Vino Godfather Winery, Vallejo.
