Additional information: Reporting to the Director, Marketing, the Manager, Content & Social Media is a strategic leader responsible for defining and advancing Tourism Calgary’s organic content vision across channels, formats, and audiences. This role connects content strategy to Tourism Calgary’s broader business objectives by growing Blue Sky City awareness, strengthening year-round demand, amplifying partner and event storytelling, and supporting visitation that delivers lasting value for Calgary’s visitor economy. Leading a team of three, the Manager, Content & Social Media provides the strategic oversight, coaching, and clarity needed to deliver high-impact work. This role establishes content priorities, guides editorial and channel strategy, and connects day-to-day execution to broader goals around brand growth, destination demand, partner amplification, and year-round relevance. Success in this role requires strong cross-functional collaboration and the ability to build alignment across teams and partners. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead Tourism Calgary’s organic content strategy across owned and social channels, translating brand and business priorities into clear editorial direction, channel plans, and storytelling frameworks that grow relevance, reach, and engagement. Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing content team, fostering strong collaboration, accountability, creativity, and growth. Oversee the planning, creation, and execution of written, visual, video, and multimedia content that is channel-native, insight-led, and aligned with Tourism Calgary’s voice, brand standards, and audience needs. Drive content planning and governance, ensuring consistent quality, operational efficiency, and strong integration with campaigns, seasonal priorities, and partner initiatives. Use analytics, audience insights, and channel performance data to optimize content strategy, refine channel approaches, and deliver measurable impact against brand and business objectives. Act as a strategic partner across internal teams and external collaborators, aligning content efforts with broader organizational objectives including brand growth, year-round visitation, event amplification, and industry or partner visibility. Stay at the forefront of changes in content, discovery, and generative AI, applying thought leadership and practical experimentation to evolve Tourism Calgary’s content strategy, workflows, and channel presence at the pace of technological change. WORKING CONDITIONS: This is a hybrid home-office role requiring on-site presence at the Tourism Calgary downtown office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Mondays and Fridays are optional work-from-home days, though occasional in-office attendance may be required to support business needs. This role requires occasional evening or weekend work, including the requirement to be present on-site as dictated by business and event needs.
