Equity actors for roles in Theatre's 2026 Season show "1776". See breakdown below. Rate: CORST $1270 weekly minimum (Tier X) - Theatre pays $1,500 weekly for Equity Members, favored nations for salaries. Additional info: Audition lunch 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM. PREPARATION: Please bring a selection in the style of the show to sing. You are welcome and encouraged to sing from the show. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music properly marked and in thecorrect key. Also, please bring two copies ofyour headshot and resume, stapled together. Potential Callbacks: March 18, 20, and 21 (morning). Delegate from Pennsylvania. A thin, hawkish gentleman. He is sharp-tongued and a touch detestable. Male Presenting.
Delegate from Virginia, Lee is a willowy aristocrat. His flamboyancy is intoxicating and borderline infuriating. Male Presenting.
Delegate from Virginia. Though noticeably tall, Jefferson is mild-mannered and sweet. Along with being a well read man, he is very much in love with his wife. Male Presenting. Vocal range: Bari/Tenor (must have G above middle C).
Delegate from South Carolina. Despite his good looks, Rutledge is haunting and somewhat ominous as the youngest member of the Continental Congress. There is a serpent-like quality to him. Male Presenting. Vocal range: Baritone (must have F above middle C, possible Ab).
Loving wife to John Adams. Intelligent, quick-witted, and talented with a pen, Abigail is a radiant and shapely beauty. Every bit as bright as her husband. Female Presenting.

President of the Congress, from MA. He was one of the wealthiest men in the Colonies. He began his political career in Boston as a protégé of Samuel Adams. Male Presenting.
Delegate from NC. Born in Princeton to Quaker parents. A shipping merchant, appointed to the Naval Board and the Marine Committee, which laid the foundation for the US Navy. Male Presenting.
Male Presenting. Delegate from Rhode Island. Hopkins' drinking has led to an appearance befitting of the 2nd oldest in the Continental Congress. He has a dirty old man playfulness about him.
Male Presenting. Delegate from Delaware. McKean is florid and likable with a charming, yet commanding, Scottish brogue.
Female Presenting. Thomas Jefferson's very-much-in-love wife. Her looks are striking, her dancing delightful, and her humor appealing. She doesn't shy away from a good time. Joy radiates from her.
Male Presenting. The message runner between General Washington's army and the Continental Congress. He has witnessed the hardships of war firsthand, although his innocent disposition and appearance may imply otherwise.
Male Presenting. Delegate from NY. Morris was born at his politically connected family's estate, Morrisania, presently part of Bronx County.
Male Presenting. Delegate from NJ. A Scottish American Presbyterian minister, educator, farmer, and slaveholder, he embraced the concepts of Scottish common-sense realism. President of the College of New Jersey, he was influential in the development of the United States’ national character.
Male Presenting. Delegate from PA. Born in Scotland, he was a legal scholar, jurist, and statesman. A leading legal theorist, he was one of the first four Associate Justices appointed to the Supreme Court by George Washington.
Male Presenting. Delegate from DE. He was an officer of the Delaware militia during the French and Indian War and the American Revolutionary War. He was tormented throughout his life by asthma, and his adult years were plagued by a facial cancer.
Male Presenting. Delegate from DE. Described as “tall...gracefully formed, with pleasing features and lustrous brown eyes. His manners were dignified.... He commanded entire confidence.” Also, “his legal abilities are said to be very great, but his powers of oratory are fatiguing and tiresome to the last degree; his voice is feeble and his articulation so bad that few can have patience to attend him.”
