Seeking Cast for "Honey in the Rock" and "Shrek" Shows

Theatre announces auditions for the 2026 Summer Season: "Honey in the Rock" and "Shrek" the musical. Looking for actors. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See the details below. Rate: All roles paid. Additional info: Auditionees should prepare two contrasting monologues, 60-90 seconds in length, and 32 bars of the musical theatre selection of their choice. Performers will be responsible for providing their own pre-recorded accompaniment, and should be prepared with two copies of their headshot and resume. Honey in the Rock director seeks actors of all ages & abilities to play the Black, Melungeon, Native, and White people of the New River Valley. Actors who play musical instruments are encouraged to prepare a short tune to share during the audition. Shrek the Musical director is seeking actors, singers, and dancers of all cultural backgrounds and abilities. Performers may choose to audition for one or both productions. Those who are unable to attend auditions in person may submit a video audition by April 4: see the document attached. Honey in the Rock will open June 19, with Shrek opening one week later. The two productions will run in repertory until July 18. Rehearsals begin on-site May 27. If you are interested, please apply.
